4 ½'' Ed Vanover Edwards Plateau chert point is secured with sinew and cement to a socketed 50'' wood shaft.

Shaft is wrapped with elkskin and deer lace Turk's head knots. Wood and stone beads and feathers decorate the upper shaft.

A straight shaft was more work to make than a stone point.

The socketed shaft enabled the hunter to quickly 'reload' the shaft for multiple strikes. It also allowed the hunter to carry several points with one shaft, providing greater ease in carrying.
