Forged Copper Bowl Tomahawk

A medium-sized smokeable pipe tomahawk, hand-forged from high-carbon tool steel. This presentation pipe tomahawk is completely hand forged and filed to shape. The elongated copper pipe bowl has three filed grooves and is soldered into a flared round pedestal and hand-filed chevron. The teardrop eye has deep hand-filed vertical molding. The blade has scalloped filework along the bottom and deep filework along the spine and is finished with an aged blue patina.
The haft is curly maple, treated with aqua fortis with a medium stain, hand-rubbed with an oil finish. The handle is adorned with a scalloped patinaed copper band and two oval copper plaques, all fastened with copper tacks. The mouthpiece is cold-forged patinaed copper tube, and is also fasted with copper tacks. The cleanout plug is a rosewood fiddle peg.
The blade is 8” long overall and 2.4” wide across the edge. The hawk is 19” long from mouthpiece to plug.
