Forged Dropped-Point Bowie Knife

A sleek and modern dropped-point Bowie knife with a softly gleaming satin-finished 5160 blade. The blade was forgedto shape, hand-polished to 2000 grit, and then acid etched for a soft grey finish. The edge has a gentle recurve, and the false edge is over one-half the length of the blade. The hidden tang is nearly the length of the grip, for strength.
The guard is comprised of solid copper, shaped into a trapezoid and flame-patinaed, then soldered in place. The grip scales are beautifully figured stabilized buckeye burl and lacewood, securely epoxied in place and fitted with three mosaic pins.
The sheath is heavy 9oz vegetable-tanned leather, wet-molded to hold the blade securely, and hand-stitched. The rough-out sectiones are boned smooth, finished with an antique dye and oiled.
The blade is 7.5" long and 3/16" thick, and 1 5/8" wide. Overall length is 12.5".
