Forged Thuya Kiridashi Desk knife With Sheath for Sale

This beautiful Kiridashi knife with a a finely figured thuya burl handle would make a fine desk blade.
The knife is hand-forged of 5160 spring steel, tapers from butt to point and is heat-treated to hold a sharp edge. The blade is polished to a satin finish. The grip is set on a black fiber liner and secured with wood pins.
A heavyweight tooled brown leather case provides protection for the sharp edge.
The overall length of the knife is 6 1/2", and the blade edge is 2 3/8".
Kiridashi is a small traditional Japanese knife having a chisel grind and a sharp point, used as a general-purpose utility knife. The name roughly translates to "pointed knife" . They provide and lots of leverage at the edge and tip. They are useful for household chores, and in the workshop and garden.
