A very unusual powderhorn done in the style and materials of a Japanese sword. Black and white cowhorn has a lobed base with a flat poplar base plug. Two fire-colored copper bands are secured with copper pins. The spout is wrapped in red-dyed stingray skin. The spout is carved and the spout plug is turned horn. A copper strap mount is secured through the base plug with large copper nails.

The horn is 12" along the back curve, and the base has a 3" diameter.
