This is a BIG capacity horn, compartmentalized to hold powder in the front and ball in the rear. The levered spout is steel, as are the strap rings. The base is turned maple burl. The base plug finial is removed to provide access to a compartment for .50 cal. (maximum) ball ammo, separated from the power compartment with a wooden disk. Base and separator are secured with tacks. A rare style from the late 18th century.

The powder section is 10” long on the arc. The base is 3.5” in diameter, and the overall length is 16.5”. The horn body is 14”.
