Another very fancy presentation war club carved from Grade 6 curly maple. The curl runs the full length of the weapon The butt is carved into the wing of a bird of prey, ands the grip ends in an eagle’s head. Brass tacks decorate the sides and provide a secure grip. An obsidian blade projects from the striking edge. A deer-antler-mounted horsehair scalplock and raptor feather hang from the drop with deerskin thongs. The stock is treated with Aqua Fortis, heated, and then finished with several coats of hand-rubbed tung oil to bring out the beauty of the curl. Pretty but functional: one of the better-balanced clubs I have made.
The obsidian blade is 4" long by 1.75" wide. The club is 36" long, 6" wide by 1.25” thick at the butt.
