Presentation Forged Pineapple Pipe Tomahawk for Sale

Sold: $775

The elegant and balanced pipe tomahawk head is hand-forged and filed to shape. The rounded pipe bowl is filed with a pineapple pattern, and sits on a short octagonal neck which terminates in a rectangular pedestal. The roman-nosed blade has a round notch at the bottom and a deeply filed pattern on the spine. The blade has a gentle beard and a thick eye. The blade is finished in a bright satin polish.

The clean-out cap is turned from cow hiorn and polished. The mouthpiece is turned from cowhorn as well. The nicely figured curly maple handle is tapered, and three slanted cast-in pewter bands with filed lines decorate the haft. The wood is finished with several coats of hand-rubbed tung oil.

The blade is 6.5" long with a 2" edge, and the overall length is 18.75" long.
