Banded Horn Flask with Brass Charger For Sale

A sturdy powder horn with a brass flask charger top. The spring-operated thumb valve has a threaded 24gr spout that can be exchanges for other loads.
This horn was an odd one, with thick translucent walls, slight curves and a solid and oddly bent tip. The front "constriction" band is carved in and the base band is lathe-turned horn, heat applied and pinned with cone brass tacks.
The turned maple base has a fully recessed iron strap staple, which allows it to stand on end if no strap is required.
The horn is 8.5” long along the back, with another 2" added by the brass spout. The base is 2.5" in diameter.
