Forged Spike Knife with Track Stand

Sold: $235

A new composite-construction railroad spike knife. A hand-forged dropped point blade of O1 steel was slotted into the point of an ancient railroad spike, hot-forged together and then riveted with copper. Only the edge is polished, the rest of the blade retains the forge scale. The spike is left intact, the original pitted texture is intact and provides a secure grip. A little rust was allowed to remain at the pommel.

A bit different from your basic forge and twist treatment, with a finer steel blade than would be possible from a typical forged spike, and an awesome display for a train aficionado.

The knife rests on a stand made from detailed large-scale model train track, with a brass tube-and-track support.

The knife is 10” overall with a 4” blade. The stand track is 10’’ long, and the knife stands about 5’’ tall.
