Knife-Bladed Gunstock War Club With Tack Work For Sale

This smaller proportioned but stout weapon, is a presentation war club carved from prominantly figured hickory. The wood is hand-carved, with a tear-drop sectioned stock and deer hoof grip. The grip is wrapped with wet-formed rawhide, hand-stitched and brass-tacked to the stock.Brass tack work covers the entire stock, with bands, diamonds, chevrons and crosses, using various sizes of tacks.
The wood is lightly stained and finished with hand-rubbed tung oil.
A hand-forged steel knife blade is embedded into the stock. Broken blades were often used to further weaponize war clubs. The blade is draw-filed and patinaed for age.
The blade is 5" long by 1.25" wide, and 5/16’’ thick. The club is 28.5" long, 4" wide by 1” thick at the butt.
