Turtle Tomahawk (Not for Sale)

Not for Sale

A hefty mid-1800s Plains style tomahawk, with a forged carbon-steel head. The head is pierced with the effigy of a turtle and file-decorated, and finished with a brown patina. The haft is marblewood, shaped by hand, transitioning from oval to diamond along its length, and finished with tung oil. The haft is wrapped with 16 gage brass wire and 32 brass tacks. The brass cap is secured with tacks as well.

The head is 6.5” long with a 3” cutting edge. The wood haft is 22” long.
