WWI Melee Club (Trench Club) For Sale

Price: $210

This brutal weapon is based on numerous examples of trench raiding clubs used during the bloody fighting of WWI. These were often manufactured in bulk in factories or behind the lines by regimental carpenters and meatal workers, and carried across the the lines at night by raiding parties. The video game Battlefield 1 has brought attention to tnem again.

The club is lathe-turned from a single solid piece of hard maple. The fourteen side spikes are cut from 8" spike nails, with each spike individually pointed, and deeply set into the club in four alternating rows of three and four. The forward spike is turned in a drill. A brass screw eye is semi-recessed into the base and a cotton cord lanyyard is attached. This is a real weapon, not a toy!

The wood is stained dark and oiled.

This club would provide a fine defense in the Zombie Apocalypse, too.

The club head is 9" long and 2.25" in diameter. The ribbed grip is 6" long. The side spikes jut out around 1.5" and the forward spike is 3" long. Overall, the club is 18.5" long and weighs about 2.5 lbs.
