A large and rugged bison powder horn from an older bull, for right or left carry. Very sturdy physically, perfect for a large bore plains rifle.
The body is polished smooth with carved rings for strap retention. The end of the horn is threaded for the attachment of a turned antler spout. The antler tip is covered with a brass thimble. The spout plug is a turned fiddle peg with a soldered brass ring..
The pine base plug has a full-diameter carved flower rosette with a stained and oiled finish. The large brass strap ring is set into a hand-cut escutcheon.
The horn is 18” along the back curve from strap button to spout plug. The base is 3.5” in diameter.
