Corn Tanto for Sale

Sold:

This project started with a Kris Cutlery tanto blade. The blade was polished to a high finish and fitted with a textured brass habaki.

The Tanto has traditional copper fuchi and kashira, with hand-made wax-cast sterling silver corn menuki and silver appliques. The saya is carved from clear-lacquered tulipwood, with a hand-carved Micarta kurigata and koiguchi, and is partially wrapped in green rayskin.

The green rayskin tsuka is wrapped with green silk braid. Cast silver corn menuki and copper mekugi complete the set.

A beautiful custom-made sword bag is also included.

The Tanto 17'' long overall, with a 10 1/2'' blade
