An unusual flattened powder horn with a large capacity designed for strap carry. The flattened polished dark body has an aged golden brown patina, with eliptical maple base and cap plugs. The cap plug is threaded for the screw-in turned oak spout and spout plug.
The cap is secured with six large brass domed tacks. The base plug is secured by a wet-formed, sewn and shrunk in place rawhide cap, which is decorated with a painted design. Iron strap staples are secured to the base and cap plugs
The horn is 12" along the long curve from base to tip, and the base is 3.5’’ x 2’.
