Forged Filed-Back Skinner
|
|
Sold: $490
This is a very beautiful and functional knife. The deep-bellied dropped-point blade was hand-forged from 1095 steel, hand-polished and then etched in acid to provide a soft grey satin finish. A deep asymmetrical patten was filed into the spine and top of the full tang.
The matched grip scales are formed from a beautiful and highly figured thuya burl block. The filed upper tang is left exposed, and provides a comfortable and positive grip. The scales are secured with aluminum and brass bullseye mosaic pins.
The pouch sheath is made of heavyweight vegetable-tanned leather, wet-molded and hand-stitched, with a carved basketweave panel and a two-tone finish.
The blade is 3.5" long, 1/8: thick and 1.75" wide at the belly. Overall, the knife is 7.75" long.
