This unique Kiridashi neck knife and sheath would make a fine every-day-carry blade.

The knife is hand-forged of 5160 spring steel and heat-treated to hold a sharp edge. The hammered forge finish is left intact, and only the convex cutting edge is polished. The spine has a thumbrest "blasted" into the spine to provide purchase for the thumb, and all the edges have been eased for comfort. A small braided leather lanyard and bead adds length to the grip.

A heavyweight tooled brown leather sheath and braided leather necklace provides protection for the sharp edge. A small, powerful magnet is inset into the sheath to secure the blade, while still allowing one-handed removal of the knife for use.

The overall length of the knife is 4.5", and the blade edge is 2".

Kiridashi is a small traditional Japanese knife having a chisel grind and a sharp point, used as a general-purpose utility knife. The name roughly translates to "pointed knife" . They provide and lots of leverage at the edge and tip. They are useful for household chores, and in the workshop and garden.
