Forged Large Persian Dagger

Sold: $500

A double-edged beauty with graceful flowing lines. The blade is hand-forged from 1095 steel with a sweeping point, filed and ground to shape, and then polished and deeply blued. The guard is copper, filed to shape and heat-patinated.

The grip is carved from stabilized, dyed box elder burl wood, and resembles polished turquoise. Two extremely fine mosaic pins secure the grip to the hidden tang.

The sheath is heavy vegetable-tanned leather, with a hand-applied basket-weave pattern and a polished black finish.

The overall length of the knife is 13", and the blade is 8".
