A large and magnificent weapon and sculpture, hand-forged and carved from a reclaimed high-carbon steel truck spring. The sinuous double-edged blade tapers gracefully to a wicked point. The traditional asymmetrical base is carved with deep flutes, "foliage" serrations, and a traditional pierced elephant's head. The blade is polished and browned to a rich glossy plum. The guard is carved from solid nickel silver and file-finished.

The fish grip is carved from monkeypod wood, with tiny inlaid brass and copper mosaic rods. A pedestal of turned antique ivory sits on sections of turned and filed nickel silver. The grip is stained and finished with several coats of clear lacquer.

The traditional Keris sheath is hand-carved from solid monkeypod wood, with a beautifully-carved throat and tip of dyed and stabilized box elder burl. The blocks are split and hollowed out to exactly fit the blade and re-assembled using a mortise and tenon joint. A raised wood panel is applied to the front of the sheath, and five brass and copper mosaic pins  are inlaid front and back, with a larger pin in the sheath tip. The sheath is finished with several coats of hand-rubbed clear lacquer.

The beautiful display stand has a base of redwood burl. A forged steel upright (forged from one of many discarded earlier blade attempts) supports the sheath, while the blade cantilevers through a natural occlusion in the wood.

The knife is 23" long overall and the blade is 18" long and 4" wide at the guard. It stands 13" tall on the base.
