Magua's Bear-Head Knife (The Last of the Mohicans)

Sold: $850  (Shipping Included)

This knife was created as a companion for the Magua Tomahawk, and is based on movie stills and photos of the prop weapon carried by the character Magua in the 1992 movie 'Last of the Mohicans'.

The 5.5" hand-carved wood grip has the open-mouthed bear effigy and is pinned to a 10” long by 1.25" wide half-tang 1095 carbon steel blade. The handle has brass tacks in a primitive double cross pattern, and the blade has a dark, worn patina. Brass tack "eyes" complete the bear carving.

The sheath is wet-molded rawhide leather, hand-stitched and shrink-dried to conform around the knife, with a hand-loomed, glass-bead-decorated throat. Once dried, the rawhide provides a hard protective surface Tin cones with red deer tail tufts dangle from a bone bead string at the throat and along the edge of the sheath.

Overall length of the knife is 16”.
