This club is a presentation war club carved from beautifully figured Grade 6 curly maple. The curl runs the full length of the weapon. The wood is hand-carved, with a faceted hexagonal stock, diamond upper grip and a teardrop lower grip. The upper and lower grip are separated by a squared integral “hand guard”. An integral sling hole is carved into the grip end, with another hole at the end of the stock.
The flat stock is inlaid with flat copper wire in a scroll pattern, with brass tack accents. The wood was treated with Aqua Fortis, heated, stained and then finished with ten coats of hand-rubbed tung oil to bring out the beauty of the curl. Two large tacks accent the blade pin.
A stout pierced Christmas tree steel blade projects from the striking edge. The handmade blade is draw-filed and browned.
The blade is 3.25" long by 2.5" wide, and ¼’’ thick. The club is 35" long, 6" wide by 1.25” thick at the butt.
