Presentation Pipe Tomahawk - Scrolled Tack Patterns

Sold: $750

A nicely-appointed presentation pipe tomahawk with a long, elegantly carved handle. The polished steel head is finished with a deep blue, with a hardened and tempered edge. The bottom of the blade is carved with a “batwing” pattern and complementary filework decorates the spine. The pipe bowl is octagonal, and the eye has deep filework as well.

The handle is high-grade curly maple with a relief-carved panel and a hand-rubbed oil finish. Tiny brass tacks are set below the blade in individual scrolled patterns on each side. The mouthpiece and clean-out plug are turned from cow horn and gently patinaed. The clean-out plug has a round tiger-eye stone set in its top, and a steel clean-out pick. There are three bands of cast-in pewter with filed grooves, including a “thumb-piece’ section in the center.

The presentation tomahawk measures 22" from mouthpiece to plug, and the head is 6.75" long, with a 2.5” edge. » read customer feedback
